Why “Blow Off Some Steam” is not the Answer

I want you to think about when you were first introduced to lunging.

Was it at a show, where your horse was being a little too frisky before your round? Were you working with youngsters? Maybe before a lesson?

These are usually the ways we’re introduced to lunging, and we’re only told to use a halter and a lunge line to “blow off some steam”.

And that’s why we created Horse Pilates.

Our mission is to help you learn how to lunge your horse properly taking it to the next level with Lunging Training as a cross-training to your riding. We want that you feel confident and ready to help your horse get fit and healthy.

The transformation in the lives of our students and their amazing horses is what inspires us every day!

“I never realized all of the little things that go into lunging training…”

That’s what Jen had to say after taking our course The Art of Lunging Masterclass, because of it she was able to easily apply our techniques to improve her horse’s musculature, solidify her lunging training skills, and walk away knowing she has a comprehensive lunging training plan.

Jess said:

“I’ve done lunging before but I’ve never used or learned how to use the different kinds of equipment, like sliding side reins.

Through our easy-to-understand explanation of each piece of lunging equipment, as well as our how-to videos, Jess was able to transform her groundwork skills.

And all of this is possible because we have an amazing team of experts with years of experience who are always ready to help trainers and their horses become the best lunging trainers they can be!

Meet one of our coaches:
Sue Nicole Susenburger

Sue trained horses for equestrian vaulting and taught lunging for 15 years. She has seen amazing results using lunging as a cross-training method for horses. She has completed two lunging exams (level II and III) and earned her Trainer license in equestrian vaulting at the German Equestrian Federation (FN).

While coaching vaulting in the U.S., Sue started sharing her lunging expertise at a friend’s local barn. When she tried to order lunging equipment, she discovered there was no place in the United States to purchase what she needed. It was then that she realized just how uncommon it is in the U.S. to use lunging as a gymnastic-like cross-training exercise for horses.

Sue will be your coach in our new course: The Art of Lunging Scholars, which we’ll launch in 2 weeks! This is a new and affordable format, to help you to learn all the steps to become the best lunge trainer and get access and support from our experts.
